As a CMLS franchise, you can be directly authorised by the FSA, or you can operate as an AR of another Network - you are free to choose.

A Success Story - Complete Mortgage Services South West

Neil Richards owns and manages Complete Mortgage Services South West (CMSSW). Based in Plymouth, the packager has a broker base of around 50 introducing prime and sub prime cases from the South West region. CMSSW has five staff and handles around 30 to 35 completions a month.

The business also generates and handles sales direct from the public. In the current state of the market, with mortgage distribution very much in the melting pot, Neil is delighted that he has chosen the franchising route. He explains the benefits as he sees them.

Lenders are going for bulk distribution and are likely to drop smaller packagers from their panels. Obviously, the bigger and stronger your business is, the more likely it is to survive and prosper - but rapid growth is hard under the market conditions with many introducers looking for security of larger networks and packagers.
